Green Monkey Yoga at Collins Park

If you live closer to north beach, you don’t have to trek down south in rush hour traffic. On Mondays and Wednesdays, Green Monkey hosts a community class at 6pm free of charge at the North Shore Bandshell. As you chaturanga, your hands might sting a bit from the concrete floor. So bring a thicker mat to class or feel free to double up. Metered parking is available across the street. [Photo]

Instead of sitting through traffic once the workday ends, head over to the Tina Hills Pavilion at Bayfront Park Miami on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6pm. Professional yoga instructors will help you feel centered amidst the chaos of a bustling city, where arming yourself with a powerful ohm can actually get you through your roughest days. Tucked away in a little slice of heaven is the Miami Beach Botanical Garden. It has two yoga classes offered every week– at 12:30pm on Wednesdays taught by Terra Nova and on Saturdays at 9am with Mike Dannheim. If you’re a garden member, classes are only $5, but if you’re a non-member classes are $10. [Photo]

If yoga is what you fancy, every other Wednesday you can Yoga with Melissa at 930am right in the store, or check the store’s calendar for its monthly programming. New World Symphony’s SoudScape park has been featured in movies and can help you feel like a star at least once a month at 9am. The venue offers challenging classes which have been taught by top instructors including Cat Haayen. Even though they have the class once a month, it get extremely packed. Sunday Yoga at Mondrian South Beach

The pool area at the Mondrian South Beach Hotel is offers some of the most spectacular views of Miami’s skyline and the water. Every Sunday at 10am, instructors from Green Yoga teach small groups free of charge. Street parking is your best bet, but metered parking is available at a nearby Starbucks (959 West Avenue). Armed with a blanket or towel, 3rd Street Beach Yoga has been attracting yogis of all levels every day since 1998. Class begins at 7am and again at either 5pm in the winter or 6pm in the spring. Donations are recommended, however mats are not. There’s metered parking available on Ocean Drive, and if you attend the 7am class, parking is free until 9am. The group meets at the lifeguard hut.
