Dianne's ImpressionsĀ Salon

The look of the salon may be dated and cluttered but as the saying goes, never judge a book by its cover. If you head over, settle down in Cori's chair. She may not have as hefty a celebrity portfolio as other well-to-do stylists but that doesn't mean she can't make a colorful masterpiece of your mane, especially if you're looking to go red. Luis Vivas HairĀ Studio

Luis Vivas has over 22 years of experience cutting and styling hair and, according to some, he's the master of the ombre. His eponymous salon is located inside The Alexander Hotel and the prices aren't too shabby. Obviously, his skills and brevity will cost you a bit more than if you went to anyone else in the salon, however at $70 for single process color with him, we're going to say hurray. [Photo: Yelp]

True HairĀ Miami

True Hair's specialty is without a doubt hair extensions, but just because the hair on your head isn't yours doesn't mean it shouldn't be colored accordingly whether you want an ombre effect or a full head of highlights. [Photo: Facebook]

Todd Jameson NueĀ Studio

Only at Todd Jameson Nue Studio could you shop for vintage goods and leave with a banging color job. It's the kind of salon you head to when you want to take a risk with your color, so ask for Obi and take that platinum to a whole other level.

Bleach HairĀ Addiction

Bleach is the kind of salon you go to when you're ready for a change- an asymmetrical, bleached blonde, blue-tipped change. It was Miami Magazine's reader's choice winner for best salon this year and its color stylists, Rachel, Steph and Elle, are masters at creative color. Oh, and if you're in need of a cocktail, trek over to the salon's libation and entertainment outpost, Addiction Beer and Wine. [Photo: Bleach Hair Addiction]

Color, cuts, fresh shaves, skincare- what can't the team do at Junior & Hatter? If you go for color, ask for Aly Shea, who's practically Picasso with the tint brush. There are but a handful of chairs and stylists within this salon, which means that you won't get lost in a sea of blow dryers and other clients. Gustavo himself teaches cutting and styling around the world, so you can rest assured you're in good hands, whether you're lightening up or darkening down. [Photo: Social Miami]

Sean DonaldsonĀ Hair

As a stylist, you either cut hair at Sean Donaldson, or you color it; there's no such thing as both. That means the focus on the hue of your strands is 100 percent there, whether you want a Bayalage effect or a full head of highlights. Much of the staff previously hailed from well-to-do salons like Vidal Sassoon and Toni & Guy, and everyone participates in bi-weekly, in-house training events, so you can be sure that both your cut and color will be spot on. Is Oribe pricey? Perhaps, but these guys are the best in the biz, and they have an extensive list of celebrities, magazine shoots and TV spots to prove it. Some of the salon's stylists are dedicated solely to mixing and applying color, so if you're thinking of going for something tricky, like a Balayage job, this is definitely the place to go. Metodo Rossano Ferretti HairĀ Salon

Rossano Ferretti has so many global salons, he invented his own method of hairdressing, all which has to do with "the natural fall of the hair." Translation: If you don't want to come out looking like a Mondrian painting, this is your place. [Photo: Metodo Rossano Ferretti]

Vidal SassoonĀ Salon

If you can say you've gotten a successful cut and color done once, then there's a good chance your stylist was Vidal Sassoon trained. Why not go to the source though? There are different levels of staff members, from colorist to color director, and while they're all fairly pricey, they're all more than fairly good. [Photo: Google]

DannyĀ Jelaca

Danny Jelaca is Allure Magazine approved, and his portfolio can surely back that up. YSL, DVF, Elie Saab and Donna Karan are just some of the fashion houses he's worked with, and the rest of his colorists don't trail too far behind him with their list of accolades. [Photo:Yelp]

Rik Rak is the salon for the who's who of Miami. We mean, it's practically the official hair salon of Ocean Drive magazine, and there's a tab on the salon's website for its long list of star clientele. Everyone has their favorites, but Frederic States is the creme de la creme. If you want to have him grace your strands for the summer, you'd better book an appointment, like, now. [Photo: Rik Rak]

You can't go wrong with any stylist at Portfolio, but if you must choose one, choose Yamil. He's like the Van Gogh of color, especially if you're looking for a natural shade of blonde, and once he's done with you, you'll wonder why you ever went anywhere else in the first place. [Photo: Portfolio]
