Don't let our eternal sunshine fool you; Miami is one stressful city. But where there is strife there are solutions, and Miami's steam pool of luxury spas tops that list. These aren't your average relaxation grottos though; a simple Swedish massage set to an ocean sounds soundtrack won't cut it. No, these are some of the finest spas Miami has to offer, with services like private butlers, multi-room thermal suites, Champagne massages, and personal iPads so you can adjust your own playlist.
Alright, so you may have to throw down a Benjamin or two to step inside these spas, which all happen to be located within Miami's swankiest hotels. From The Miami Beach Edition to the Biltmore, scroll through our list of Miami's best luxury spas and book your next life detox, stat.
The Spa at The Miami Beach Edition is the latest addition to Miami's roster of luxury spas. Opened this past December, includes a state-of-the-art fitness studio, an epically stocked retail shop, a beauty lounge, and a draped, candlelit relaxation room that's so serene, you'll be tempted to never leave. Get this though: the spa's massage, skincare, detox, scrub, and couple's rooms are all equipped with their own iPads, so you can handpick your own music to drift off to.
With a dramatically glamorous hammam (which is like a turkish bath, for those not in the know), an aroma steam room, a monstrous sound pool and retreats and workshops for mental wellness, it's no wonder this "spa hotel" has been ranked tenth on Conde Nást Traveler's list of Best Spas in the U.S. The Standard's got a boatload of treatments for any issue. Broke? Step in to the mud lounge for $30. At odds with your circadian rhythm? Dive into the arctic plunge pool. Feeling a bit frisky? Get an extra rub down there with a Foot Fetish pedicure. The Standard delivers the serenity of a true spa experience, albeit always with a twist.
The Spa at the Viceroy boasts a 5,000-square-foot water lounge with a floating library, hot and cold plunge pools and a breath-taking view of the bay. Besides the gorgeous Philippe Starck designed interior, the Viceroy has world-class treatments you can enjoy in one of its ten spa treatment rooms, like its collagen-filled Dr. Babor facial or its medical-grade HydraFacial MD treatment. If you're itching for something full-body, they have everything from sports massages to a Jet Lag Cure.
The Biltmore Spa is housed on the seventh floor of one of Miami's grandest and oldest hotels,
and offers a sweeping view of Coral Gables's lush canopy. The spa menu lists all the classics- Thai massages, Ayurvedic treatments, organic seaweed body wraps, acupuncture- but there's also an acne-avoiding spa menu for teens and a "manscaping" menu for well-groomed gents.
Fresh off receiving a Five-Star award from Forbes for a seventh consecutive year (which is crazy!), the Mandarin Oriental continues its reign as one of the most luxuruious spas in Miami, with treatments inspired by ancient Chinese, Balinese and Thai cultures. Mandarin Oriental just released a new spa and wellness program, Inspiring Rituals. Each month focuses on a different theme, like strength or beauty, and includes two hours of related spa treatments, an inspirational cookie, a spa gift, and at home spa tips.
The Palms Hotel and Spa is a lush, tropical getaway in the midst of South Beach, and uses only Aveda products in all of its services and treatments. Everything's inspired by ancient Ayurvedic philosophies, from massages to skin care to body treatments, plus there's a beauty salon that offers hair care, waxing, and make-up services using products from, you guessed it, Aveda. The best part about The Palms though, is that you can book a tiki cabana massage right by the pool!
Formerly known as the Canyon Ranch Hotel and Spa, the Carillon Hotel and Spa still places the same emphasis on health and well-being that the former did, although they have revamped their spa menu a bit. The thermal suite is still the draw, which takes you through nine different rooms of experiential rains, herbal therapy treatments, crystal steam, and possibly the only igloo in South Florida.
As the only full-service, rooftop bar in all of Miami, the Wellness Garden and Spa at The Betsey Hotel is a slice of serenity on Ocean Drive. It's one of the only places you can find a facial make made of 99 percent pure nano gold, which makes the spa's "Moment of Gold" facial a definite anti-aging treatment. One thing that makes The Betsey unique, is that every treatment begins with a foot washing and ends with you bringing home an aromatherapy pouch. But the best part about the Betsey, even better than the fact that you can get your services poolside in a cabana, is that you can get everything done at night under the stars.
Home to the Miss Universe contestants while they prepped for the pageant, the Trump National Doral spa boasts 33 treatment rooms and over 100 signature services for girls, guys and pairs. Day packages start at $175, which gives you a facial and massage, access to Trump's fitness center, pools, hydrotherapies, and lunch or dinner at one of the resort's restaurants.
Martha Stewart stamps this as "the most beautiful spa in America," so if you're gonna book a treatment at Lapis Spa, then you might as well go big and reserve the Bleau private spa suite. There are two treatment beds, a jetted tub and a private bathroom and shower that accompany your oceanside view. Oh, and once you're done with your Aroma Detox therapy, you can bequest a personal bath butler to cater to your bubbling needs. If you're on a budget like most, though, check online for Lapis's many monthly specials, which include access to the spa's myriad water journey rooms.
