Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

In Miami, there are no "Get Out of Jail Free" cards when it comes to your hands and feet. Close-toed shoes is an option; gloves are a novelty, not a necessity. The nail care industry is a serious business down here, and we've rounded up a few prime places to show your toes and fingers some Mademoiselle-style lovin.

We're not telling you to completely ditch the woman who's been doing you, your mom and your grandmother's nails from the back room of her Hialeah duplex since you were born, nor are we telling you to stop dropping by your favorite Vietnamese nail salon unannounced because, let's be real, no one does your polish change quicker and they always accept walk-ins. We're just broadening your nail salon options around town, you know? In case you ever chip a nail or five in a foreign neighborhood or just really want to really get some cuticle lovin' with someone who doesn't know what's going on with you, your cousins and your cousin's cousins. We promise, we won't tell.

We've limited the list solely to nail salons, although we do recognize that certain full-service salons have some of the best nail aestheticians in town. The list is arranged from North to South and, of course, your comments are welcome below the map and in our inbox. Careful not to chip off your freshly done mani though. No one wants to be that girl.

Nails and Wine

A place that includes nails AND wine in the title? Where can we book an appointment? A full manicure and pedicure will run you at $30, which is a killer deal, but people go mostly for their intricate nail art, not to mention the wine. When shouldn't you go? When you're in a rush. Hey, the Mona Lisa wasn't painted in a day, right?

Tucci Nail Spa

Tucci nail spa may have one of the best deals in Miami, at $33 for a mani and pedi. Although the salon dedicates itself to nails, they also offer blowouts as they put the final touches on that Picasso of a ring finger they're working, all while you browse the internet with their free Wi-Fi. Lapis Spa

Ok, so it's not solely a nail salon, but how could you talk about pedicures and not cover Miami's most outrageous one? For $200 and 90 minutes of your time, you can bedazzle your toes with real Swarovski crystals at Lapis Spa at the Fontainebleau. Now talk about a summer pedi that sparkles.

Nailbar & Beauty Lounge

The follicle love is so strong here that both Marie Claire and InStyle named it one of the best nail art joints in the country, and sitting in those egg shaped chairs will show you why. They only use Zoya nail polish, natural raw sugar scrubs and disposable liners for their pedicure stations, so you can be sure that this is a germ-free nail zone. And, there's complimentary champagne during happy hour! We'll have a glass to go along with our French manis, thank you very much. [Photo: Nail Bar]

Marilyn Monroe Nail Boutique

Marilyn Monroe once said, "Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world." We're going to assume she had her feet done before she slipped on the slippers. Miami is home to the very first Marilyn Monroe chain (located right behind the old Loehmann's, with locations now popping up all over Florida, reaching so far as Hawaii. They only use their self-branded Marilyn Monroe products and offer express, signature and luxury manis and pedis. Hair and makeup services are also offered. [Photo: Marilyn Monroe Spas]
