SWGR, Fishing's Most Street Brand, Has Opened a Gallery in Wynwood

It's like health goth meets the sea.

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Part art gallery, part streetwear-inspired fishing apparel store, and part aquarium– SWGR Gallery is sure to please Wynwood's most discerning maritime enthusiasts.

Now open on NW 2nd Ave, Wynwood's main stretch, SWGR Gallery is the brick and mortar arm of SWGR, a local clothing brand that sells minimal fishing gear (read: not your dad's Guy Harvey fishing tee). The brand, founded by Daniel Hassan, features black and white clothing and hats with minimal designs for the guy who's over PacSun, but not ready to jump into Khakis just yet. (It's name is short for "swagger" if that gives you any idea of what the company is about). Everything is under $60.

After seeing some success, his next move was to open a gallery and boutique space, which features boating and fishing-inspired multimedia works by artists like Jesse Draxler, Adam Draxler, and Adam Cohen. Oh, and there's a massive tank that features under appreciated fish, like baitfish and crabs. They plan to host plenty of events in the future, like a chef cook-off with fresh catches. Come hungry, and ready to dive in.
