Kit + Ace, Cashmere Store Founded by Lululemon Family, Opening in the Grove

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

You may have noticed some well-designed, bright purple window decals announcing a new store in the Grove, where Main Highway, Grand Avenue, and McFarlane Road meet. Well, laid-back luxury shoppers, get excited. Miami is getting its very first Kit + Ace!

Created by the family who founded Lululemon, Kit + Ace sells high-end shirts made from Technical Cashmere. "A cashmere store, in Miami?" you ask. Well this "Technical Cashmere" has been enhanced with technical fibers, so its light enough to wear in warm weather.

Set to open on Thursday, October 29th, this is Kit + Ace's first location in Florida, actually, and you can expect it to have a few hyper-local elements like a Supper Club table (for monthly dinners with Miami's creatives), an exhibition space (The Wall), a cool statement lighting fixture, and artwork, all created by local artists and contractors. No one's been nailed down yet, but we should have an update for you in the upcoming weeks.
