Doral is filled with gorgeous Floridians this weekend as a number of women compete for the Miss Florida USA competition. NBC 6 headed over to ask the girls what they thought about Donald Trump's comments on immigration. The overall sentiment? Not good.
Miss Coral Gables, an immigrant from Colombia who settled in Miami when she was young, wants the title so she can "have a bigger stage to prove that the immigrant community is a really positive community," she says. "We are really hard workers."
Miss Miami defended Trump's right to freedom of speech, but not his actions."At the end of the day this is America," she said. "And I love America, and it is freedom of speech."
Other contestants from around Florida said they didn't agree, but weren't going to let Trump's comments bring them down. The winner will be crowned on Saturday evening.
