Italia Independent Has (Finally!) Opened in Wynwood

Italia Independent has finally opened in Wynwood Block! This is the colorful eyewear brand's second boutique in the states (after New York) so, Miamians, give yourselves a pat on the back.

It's small and divided into two separate areas. The first is dedicated to prescription eyewear, sunglasses and the brand's many collaborations, its most recent being with Adidas Originals. The second area has everything the store needs for eye exams. All in all, it's pretty modern and industrial, with exposed concrete walls, a large central table made with metal and teak wood, and the front bumper of a Fiat 500 in a glass cube at the register.

In keeping with Wynwood's aesthetic, artist Theodore Bradley (behind that skeleton mural of Anna Wintour and Karl Lagerfeld in New York) live painted a butterfly and leaf-trimmed mural surrounding the door of the store, and the display windows feature an intricate system of ropes and pulleys built to accommodate 150 frames of eyewear.

Next up on the ongoing list of eyewear stores to move into Wynwood, which includes Warby ParkerZthea, and Wynwood Shades? Illesteva.
