Scoot over Harry Potter devotees and lie low Nintendo enthusiasts– Hello Kitty fandom is coming to Universal Studios Orlando!
WWD reports that Sanrio and Universal Parks & Resorts have inked a deal to bring a chain of stores to its amusement parks, starting with Universal Orlando Resort later this year. Don't get it twisted, though; this isn't your regular Sanrio store. At Universal, you'll be able to custom design your own merchandise and create souvenir versions of Hello Kitty's signature bow. Plus there will be plenty of photo-ops throughout the store, not to mention meet-and-greets with the five-apple tall character, who may or not be a cat.
Inside this interactive store you'll also find stationery, home goods, apparel, accessories, collectibles, candy, and Hello Kitty Universal Park co-branded items. There will also be sections dedicated to Hello Kitty's friends, like Chococat, My Melody, Badtz-Maru, Purin and Keroppi.
Alright, so it's not a whole Hello Kitty theme park (for that you'd have to jet to China from the Exhale Spa-touting Miami International Airport), but it is a place for Florida-based Hello Kitty aficionados to gather and get their cute on.
