Now that we've had time to simmer down after the blunt announcement that IMG's SwimWeek had been cancelled this year, let's talk about what's happening. LDJ Productions, one of two major companies that will be putting on the bulk of the shows, has an update for us. They've partnered with SBI Productions to put on SwimMiami, wherein 20 designers will be showcasing their collections at two South Beach venues this year.
Since The Raleigh is out of commission this year, shows will take place at the W South Beach and 1Hotel South Beach from Friday, July 17th through Monday, July 20th. Right now designers who have confirmed include 6 Shore Road by Pooja, Caffe Swimwear, Frankie's Bikinis, Gottex, Indah, L*Space by Monica Wise, Mia Marcelle, Mikoh, Portal featuring Maaji, Agua Bendita and Hernan Zajar, San Lorenzo Bikinis and Tori Praver.
The schedule hasn't been set yet, however a SwimMiami rep tells us that they should have a schedule in place by next week and so far the calendar is looking pretty full. SwimMiami will be listing its full calendar at SwimWeekCalendar.com and will be honoring those press credentials.
