Wynwood Letterpress Opens with Calligraphy Lessons and a Gift for Racked Readers

Wynwood Letterpress is officially open for business with the most unique set of stationary goods Miami has seen. It's Anthropology meets Nasty Gal in paper form; you'll just as easily find a set of dainty floral Rifle Paper Co. thank you cards as you will a notebook that says "All the Fucks I Give" with confetti push pops just a few shelves up. The store is especially noted for its one-of-a-kind, numbered key chains, which feature Miami neighborhoods (Little Haiti is up next!) that are switched up every season. But the space aims to be more than just a store. It has lofty goals to become the ultimate learning workspace for DIY-ers, whether you're looking to learn the art of origami folding, bookbinding, hand lettering, or making your own floral crowns.

It's launching its series of workshops with a sophisticated intro to "Copperplate Script Calligraphy" lead by Leila Farah, a Miami-based calligrapher who counts Louis Vuitton as one of her past clients and the who's who of Miami's brides. The two hour workshop will teach 12 lucky students how to use an oblique pen holder and calligraphy nib to create the basic strokes you need to form letters. The class is $85 per person and includes a personalized mini calligraphy kit you can take home, not to mention plenty of store discounts.

But we will say, Racked Readers get the best gift of all.
