Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Aerie is throwing the largest selfie party ever at the Mondrian this Saturday, March 7 to celebrate the launch of its Aerie Swim and AerieReal campaigns. Photographer Gray Malin, who's famous for his bright photos of overhead, color-coordinated beach scenes, will be taking the shots, and a roster of fashion's leading ladies– Hannah Bronfman, Mae Whitman, and Cali blogger Sincerely Jules– have confirmed attendance. For the past year, Aerie has been all about un-retouched bodies in their ads, and now they want to enforce it IRL. RSVP is necessary, so email aeriersvp@inhouseideas.com.
If you can't make it to the event, no worries. Aerie will be launching its new swimwear collection on March 5 through April 6 at American Eagle Outfitters on Lincoln Road. It features over 60 new styles (like the ones above), so get in there before all the spring breakers do. But we will say this: The chance to be in one of Gray Malin's photos is definitely a once in a lifetime deal.
