Miami Beach is on the cusp of throwing its biggest celebration yet: it's 100th birthday! The Miami Beach Centennial will consist of a full five days of fitness, music, art, and weddings, but we're most excited about one thing: the fashion! Funkshion Fashion Week Miami Beach will be throwing a five-day fashion show to celebrate our city's best designers, brands, and artists.
So here's what's going down. A fashion show is rolling out every night at the Funkshion Style Village, a one-of-a-kind, state of the art structure that will house each of the fashion shows and live performances. It will be open from 7pm to 11pm daily (except it opens at 5pm on Sunday) and Menin Hospitality is hosting a style lounge with themed nights, like a Radio Bar game night or an homage to Miami's "Classic Years."
The 100-hour celebration kicks off on Sunday, March 22, with a fashion show by designer Lilliana Montoya, followed by an Original Penguin and Cubavera show. On Monday The Art Institute will be holding its annual fashion show, and then on Tuesday Phoenix House and Celebrity Stylist Calyann Barnett are hosting the first ever Photo Booth pop-up party and fashion show. On Wednesday there will be a special screening of the documentary "Dior and I" at the Miami Beach Cinemathique, and finally on Thursday, the whole shebang concludes with a fashion show by Style Mafia featuring Jovana Djuric Jewelry.
The event is free with RSVP, so email firstname.lastname@example.org to gain your all access pass.
