Miami's luxury retail baby is growing up. The Webster just announced that it plans to open its first store outside of Miami in November at the Houston Galleria mall. It's moving into a standalone building that's still under construction, which Simon Property Group coined the "luxury jewel box." In a statement to us, owner Laure Hériard-Dubreuil explained her decision to open in Houston:
"It makes perfect sense to bring our strong fashion expertise and ‘fashion eye' to this new venture. We have observed the growing market in Houston, as there is a demand for more and more curated fashion pieces. It is clear Houstonians have a passion for fashion, so it is natural that we come to them. We will also be reaching out to international clients from Asia and the Middle East that might not come to Miami."
Last year The Webster made big moves. It opened its menswear portion at its Bal Harbour boutique, it decked out a cabana at The St. Regis Bal Harbour, opened an outlet at Sawgrass Mills, and it produced a groundbreaking, all-white collab with Le Bon Marche.
