New York Fashion Week this year consisted of hundreds of strange layering objects people call coats, Marc Jacobs's most wearable collection yet, and J.Crew's earth-shattering invention of the pantsuit onesie to name a few things. While most of us witnessed it all from the comfort of our warm living rooms, Annie Vazquez, the now copper-haired bombshell blogger behind The Fashion Poet, was braving Lincoln Center in style.
Annie is a five-year fashion week veteran, so naturally we tapped her in for our first Beauty Diary, a feature our sister site dreamed up that follows one beauty pro around as she prepares for a big event. From packing up her travel essentials to sitting front row at shows like Carolina Herrera and Custo Barcelona, follow Annie as she takes on fashion week, Miami style.
Friday
Went crazy shopping at the All Saints outlet at Sawgrass Mills. Now it's time to make outfits!
I never leave home without my Pür Minerals under-eye concealer and Glossier moisturizer which helps me look rested and rejuvenated after a flight.
I've been dying to dye my hair the "it" color, copper, and what better place to debut a new look than New York Fashion Week?
Saturday
Yay! Just made it to Lincoln Center to scope out the scene before I start tomorrow. I can't believe how cold it is...
Got a call from Custo Barcelona to attend an exclusive model fitting and see the looks before they hit the runway tomorrow. I'm obsessed with these.
It's Valentine's Day. None of my friends here have a date so we came out to dinner to celebrate being single. Woohoo!
Sunday
It was a rough night, but I can't believe I scored an appointment with celebrity hair guru Marco Pena for some pre-show hair styling. Hallelujah!
After Marco did my hair, Tresemme asked me to shoot a street style session. Too cool.
Today has been awesome. Seeing the Custo show while sitting front row was magical.
Monday
I'm excited for today because I get to cover backstage beauty with my bestie photographer Mayleen. I love seeing the trends before they come out and learning new beauty tricks by experts.
We covered 6 different beauty stories today, from Alice + Olivia to Milly to Dennis Basso and more. Now it's time to have fun.
Tuesday
It doesn't stop snowing. I've had to double up on coats.
The cold has been really rough on my skin. It made my polish chip and cuticles so dry. I had to stop in for quick mani with Mayleen before heading to the shows.
Wednesday
I had to rush out this AM to catch the train alone with hardly anytime to do my makeup. Thank God this Makeup Forever lipstick gives me a pop a color.
Squeezed some time after the shows for a coffee and cupcake date with my sister and niece.
How cute is my four-month-old niece Olivia Skye?
Thursday
Headed out to Williamsburg to shoot some street style with Mayleen before going to the shows. Made sure to slather my skin with Estee Lauder and drink lots of H20 the night before.
After our shoot, we treated ourselves to Momofuku Milk Bar's crack pies and made sure to pack some for our trip back to the 305.
