DESIGN DISTRICT-Want to attend a fashion show while helping a good cause? This Friday, A Night of Fashion is benefitting the Children's Home Society of Florida. You'll get to see fashion designs by top accessory and clothing designers from South Florida, including Fiorella Di Lorenzo from 3 Lily Pads Lissa Schuessler from 724, and Ilene Greenberg from Ilene Berg, a Design Comfort Shoes Company. The event will also introduce 4 emerging designers and have special guest singer and song writer Cynthia Nilson from the hit band THE SACADOS performing during the event. And that's not all. Drinks and small food bites will be provided. A $20 cash or $25 credit card donation per person will be taken at the door, and anyone donating $50 or more, will be eligible for raffle prizes, including exclusive pieces from the featured designers. DOWNTOWN MIAMI- Buskerfest Miami is having its annual Street Performance Festival in Downtown Miami this Friday from 4pm-9pm. Enjoy performances by local artists, who will perform 45 minute sets at each of the Inner Loop stops of the Metromover and select satellite locations, including Miami Center for Architecture and Design. While there, grab an official Buskerfest Miami Passport at any stop to track your travels, select your favorite act of the night, and cash-in on deals and discounts at nearby restaurants, bars and retailers. After that, head over to theTina Hills Pavilion in Bayfront Park to use your passport as a raffle entry and enjoy a performance by Miami's post-blues, harmonica rockin' Juke! CORAL GABLES-Feeling like you need a little dose of poetry in your life? Stop by this Sunday afternoon at Books & Books where eight poets will read their works. Eight Miami Poets is a brand-new anthology from Jai-Alai Books that sheds light on a new generation of poets in Miami-Dade County that have not yet been published. The book features Annik-Adey Babinski, Legna Rodríguez Iglesias, Fabienne Sylvia Josaphat, Yaddyra Peralta, Cherry Pickman, Sarah Trudgeon, Nick Vagnoni, and Zain Aslam, with an introduction by Neil de la Flor.
