A Street Festival, A Night of Fashion, and More Events This Week in Miami

Thursday, December 10th

DESIGN DISTRICT-Want to attend a fashion show while helping a good cause? This Friday, A Night of Fashion is benefitting the Children's Home Society of Florida. You'll get to see fashion designs by top accessory and clothing designers from South Florida, including Fiorella Di Lorenzo from 3 Lily Pads Lissa Schuessler from 724, and Ilene Greenberg from Ilene Berg, a Design Comfort Shoes Company. The event will also introduce 4 emerging designers and have special guest singer and song writer Cynthia Nilson from the hit band THE SACADOS performing during the event. And that's not all. Drinks and small food bites will be provided. A $20 cash or $25 credit card donation per person will be taken at the door, and anyone donating $50 or more, will be eligible for raffle prizes, including exclusive pieces from the featured designers. Pieces will also be available during the event. All proceeds will go to the Children's Home Society. RSVP here for a night of fashion and fun beginning at 7pm and running till 10pm. MIAMI BEACH-Before the weekend arrives, pop in to a pop up shop featuring Joanne Stone Design and Carolina K. Shop clothes, shoes, hats, blankets, pillows, and just about anything. Friday, December 11th

DOWNTOWN MIAMI- Do you live for game nights? Well, The New Tropic is bringing you the ultimate game night with Downtown Recess. Enjoy classic recess games like 4-square along with plenty of board games and a giant jenga. Recess starts at 12pm and goes till 4pm. And don't worry about missing lunch. Food will be available for purchase. Plus, Bootleggers Library will be on site starting at 2pm for your reading pleasure. So come out and enjoy a day full of games, food, and music. DOWNTOWN MIAMI- Buskerfest Miami is having its annual Street Performance Festival in Downtown Miami this Friday from 4pm-9pm. Enjoy performances by local artists, who will perform 45 minute sets at each of the Inner Loop stops of the Metromover and select satellite locations, including Miami Center for Architecture and Design. While there, grab an official Buskerfest Miami Passport at any stop to track your travels, select your favorite act of the night, and cash-in on deals and discounts at nearby restaurants, bars and retailers. After that, head over to theTina Hills Pavilion in Bayfront Park to use your passport as a raffle entry and enjoy a performance by Miami's post-blues, harmonica rockin' Juke! FORT LAUDERDALE-Pop up shops, DIY activities, music and food are all waiting for you this Friday at the Snow Owl Market, running from 5pm to 11pm. First, enjoy some holiday gift shopping with an artisan food market to fill you up. Then, when the sun sets, make sure to bring your own blankets and chairs for a picnic at the park and some board games. Oh, and free beer will be provided for those over 21. WYNWOOD-If you're having Basel withdrawals, check out the Wynwood Art Walk this Saturday. This month's featured artist is Corinne Stevie of Telekinetic Walrus. She will have her art displayed in Miami for the first time ever. The event kicks off early at 4pm and will run till 12am with a special live live performance at 8:30pm. Sunday, December 13th

CORAL GABLES-Feeling like you need a little dose of poetry in your life? Stop by this Sunday afternoon at Books & Books where eight poets will read their works. Eight Miami Poets is a brand-new anthology from Jai-Alai Books that sheds light on a new generation of poets in Miami-Dade County that have not yet been published. The book features Annik-Adey Babinski, Legna Rodríguez Iglesias, Fabienne Sylvia Josaphat, Yaddyra Peralta, Cherry Pickman, Sarah Trudgeon, Nick Vagnoni, and Zain Aslam, with an introduction by Neil de la Flor.
