Anna Wintour flew into Miami, not to schmooze it up at any lavish parties, not to hop from fair to fair. No, instead the Vogue EIC came to this city in the midst of all the Basel frenzy to attend a basketball game. No one noticed.
She sat front row at the American Airlines Arena with tennis pro Caroline Wozniacki on December 5th as the Miami Heat took on former teammate Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. There is literally no sign of her at any Basel-related event throughout the entire week.
But really, the fact that she's attending a game shouldn't be of any surprise to you, especially considering the entities who were playing. She placed Lebron James on the cover of Vogue's April 2008 issue (he's one out of a handful of men featured in Vogue's 123-year history), and she's given Dwyane Wade her much sought after nod of approval. Plus, while answering 73 tedious questions, she's mentioned that basketball is one sport that she'd like to get into. Here's to hoping she flies down for more games, signature shades in tow.
