You can find Fendi in Aventura Mall and at Bal Harbour Shops, but you won't find a store or a shopping experience quite like its new Design District store.
WWD reports that this newly opened location pays tribute to Fendi's past, but also fuses a few Miami elements. With the store's exposed brick walls and select sections of the walls covered in gold stucco, you can't help but feel like you've been transported to Rome, where the brand was first founded in 1925. On the other hand, a gold spiked plaster wall in the women's ready-to-wear section evokes Fendi's Paris Avenue Montaigne boutique, and florescent orange, blue, and green paint with UV and LED lighting throughout its facade are a definite nod to Miami's bright, lively colors.
But this isn't Fendi's first foray into the Design District. Fendi Casa, the brand's home design line, has had a boutique there for ten years and, as one can predict, provided all the furnishings and interior decor for this new boutique. This also isn't Fendi's first big venture in Miami. Last year, the brand launched Fendi Château Residences, a 12-story waterfront condo with 54 apartments that range from $8 million to $25 million on Collins, near Bal Harbour Shops.
Make sure to take your beau with you when you check out the Design District store because you'll find both womenswear and menswear; the latter can be found on the second floor. You'll also get to quench your accessories thirst here with an assortment of furs, handbags, shoes, and more. After you've shopped and are feeling spent, just get cozy on one of the brown and navy leather couches lining the store and take a minute to admire artworks by Maria Pergay, Thierry Lemaire, and Marc Newson.
