If you haven't yet heard, Downtown Athletic Club is being switched out for David Barton Gym. The new 35,000 square foot, night club-inspired haunt will sit on the top floor of the Southeast Financial Center's 15 floor annex, which just so happens to sit next to the tallest office tower in Florida. Damn.

The space is currently under construction and no official opening date has been set yet, however a David Barton Gym rep confirmed that all equipment has been ordered for Miami and it would be opening "very soon." The gym's website states that it will contain a boxing studio, basketball court, squash court, rock wall yoga and pilates studio and "miles" of interactive cardio. In short, it's keeping all the amentities that once belonged to Downtown Athletic Club. Class offerings have yet to be determined, but if it's anything like other David Barton Gyms, you could expect their signature classes like Yoga for Jocks, Six Pack Attack, Barton Bootcamp and Pain and Pleasure.

For the record, David Barton Gym did have a location at the Gansevoort-turned-Perry-turned-future-1 Hotel and Residences in South Beach. Fun fact: in its Perry days, the gym was infiltrated by a group of armed bail bondsmen busted in looking for fugitives, according to CBS Miami. Let's hope that doesn't happen again.
