Gap's Miami Collection is More Nantucket, Less Miami

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Gap has tapped into their inner Miamian to produce a complete collection of Art Deco inspired button downs, cotton shorts, tees, tanks and more wardrobe staples. It's a mixable collection of pastel basics that can stack easily together for color blocking bliss.

The one caveat to "The Miami Collection" though? The womenswear is a little too Nantucket, a lot less South Beach. The men's collection, we can let slide. Then again, it's nice to know people aren't associating our city with those half dressed, neon clad tourists that walk down Collins. May the death of "I'm in Miami Bitch" t-shirts finally reach its completion. Thanks, Gap, for noticing.
