A new boutique, Roses & Dreams, is bringing easy-going, etherial French flair to South Beach. It's like walking into the ultimate romantic, bohemian closet, with spaced out garments and accessories from solely French designers; think boho-luxe tunics from Antik Batik, coverups that are so St. Barths from Barthelemy Rose and pastel mod threads from Brigitte Bardot.
Owner Valerie Engel has taken everything she learned at prep school in France and her previous stint as a visual merchandiser for Chanel in South France to bring to Miami a cottage-like, French boutique because, as almost anyone who moves here from other lands, she fell in love with the weather. She's decorated accordingly, making the boutique warm, girly, and essentially, well, French.
The store will be hosting its grand opening ceremony tomorrow, May 15, from 6 to 9pm. Champagne and petit fours will be served. Between Vicomte A.'s French prep store a few blocks away and this, can we predict a French Revolution in Miami? Je ne sais pas!
