How do you like yoga and Pilates? Ok, how do you like them to the tune of FREE? Yes, we too like the sound of that, and here are two ways to conquer your craving for zen au gratis.
The Athleta store at the Village of Merrick Park is opening its doors for free Pilates and bodyART classes throughout April. On select Saturdays at 9am and Sundays at 10am, the store will be holding classes that include Pilates using an exercise band or ball, Pilates classes infused with barre and bodyART classes, which mixes yoga and thai chi and heavily targets your core. It's recommended that you bring your own mat, however they have ten to lend out should you happen to forget yours. RSVP's are highly recommended at (305) 441-9581. The first class, Pilates with an exercise band, starts this Sunday.
Then, on the second Wednesday of every month, jugofresh is offering free yoga classes at the their Wynwood location. These "yoga del barrio" classes, which start on April 16 at 6:15pm, will be lead by Miami's yogi extraordinaire Dawn B. Feinberg and will mix ashtanga with Jivamukti yoga. Music is going to be a huge focus during each session, and Dawn plans on mixing up old school tunes with the zen and harmonious melodies you're probably thinking of. It's highly recommended that you bring your own mat, however they have a few available should you happen to forget yours at the office.
