Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Now that Melissa Shoes has opened its second Miami location (the first is on Lincoln Road), two of your footwear conundrums can finally be solved. First, they are the answer to the age-old question, "which heels could I wear to a pool party?" Seeing as they are made entirely of pvc plastic, they should withstand a bit of splashing. Second, they are the solution to a fear of smelly feet, as each pair has a tutti fruity scent that, according to a rep, doesn't wear off.
Their new Coral Gables shop is only a pop-up, and although it's been open for a few weeks now, they're throwing a big grand opening shebang tomorrow, March 20, from 6 to 8pm. It'll be hosted by the cutest blogger on the block, The Petite Poet and her tía, The Fashion Poet. Besides booze and shoes, Gloss will be painting up a storm at their manicure station. The store is confirmed to be open for four months, but who knows? Maybe if you stock up on enough plastic wedges from their Karl Lagerfeld collab it will become a permanent settlement.
