Miami's getting a wave of high-end designer shows this spring. First Carolina Herrera headlines the Cadillac Championship, and now Oscar de la Renta will be helping to throw the most stylish philanthropy event of the season, Designed for a Cure on February 13. The event benefits the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center in their quest for treatments and cures for the disease.
It's a cause with which de la Renta was eager to assist, as he's previously received treatment at Sylvester for his cancer from Dr. Stephen D. Nimer. "Dr. Nimer has been my doctor for many years. In addition to having his unbelievable expertise, I am lucky and proud to call him my friend," says de la Renta.
The event will include a silent auction and will feature over 30 of Miami's finest restaurants and bars before the show. And the best part of the show is that traditional models are being swapped out for patients, survivors and the physicians who have been by their sides from the start. Unfortunately tickets are sold out, however you can still make a donation to the Oscar-worthy cause here.
