In today's Design District news, we have a rough time frame of when Lladró will open its first Miami store! Located on the second floor of the Design District's Palm Court, Lladró should be opening by the end of January, with a grand opening in March, a brand rep confirms.
"The interior design is inspired by the idea of a gallery or museum as the ideal place to exhibit the wealth of decorative art porcelain," says Rosa Lladró, the company's president. If Miami's boutique will look anything like New York's (pictured above), we're looking at a space-age looking space filled with sculptures that would as easily fit into a Victorian room as they would a modern day one.
Lladró hails from Spain and has been producing handmade porcelain figurines since the 50s. You can currently find the pieces at Macy's at Dadeland Mall and Aventura Mall, as well as other home stores around town like Pego Lamps and Dorian Gift Co., but come 2015 you'll be able to peruse its intricately shaped figurines and pieces within a gallery-like space surrounded by a flood of other luxury stores.
