In today's major mergers, Green Monkey and Bala Vinyasa have combined their stakes in the world of yoga. In an email released this morning, Green Monkey announced that the two have joined forces with aims to expand their reach, stating that "what we are committed to is bigger than any one studio or company alone."

So what does this mean for you, the yoga enthusiast? More classes, that's for sure. An infusion of new teachers, we assume. Bala Vinyasa currently has locations in Coral Gables and in Naples, while Green Monkey has locations in South Beach, South Miami and Fort Lauderdale.

As for what this new venture will be called (Green Vinyasa? Bala Monkey?) it's all up in the air for now. Come December 1, though, you'll begin to see images and messages from both teams portraying the new pact. Then, once the new year hits, you'll be seeing a brand new joint website and brand new merchandise. We've asked the Monkey for answers, and are waiting to hear back soon.
