Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

If anyone knows how to throw a party, it's the team at Shiraz Events. Versace, Mulberry, Maison Martin Margiela, Dior— these are just a few major fashion houses that have all been graced by Shiraz's magic touch, however the list could extend a few feet if you include the amount of non-profits, big corporations, and private entities they've worked with, whether they're setting up a pop-up shop or perfecting the perfect Barbie cocktail.

While Shiraz has offices in New York, Los Angeles, and London, we were most curious to see what the team in Miami wears on the daily. As party guests, the rule of thumb is to look as fabulous as possible for any event in this city, however our main question to them was "what do you wear when you're throwing the party?" Comfort is key, yes, but in a city where "casual" simply means an inch off your heel height, we'd love to know how this good looking staff stays that way while running around as caterers, event managers, and more. After the jump, Shiraz president Shai Tertner and his team demonstrate the perfect balance between comfortable and classy office style, letting us in on a few party tricks of their own.

Shai Tertner, President and Lifestyle Expert, is wearing a Calvin Klein shirt, Hugo Boss belt, Levi's jeans and Armani boots

Describe your style in three words or less.
Modern and streamlined.

Your job requires you on your feet when you're putting together events. How do you manage to look put together while staying comfortable on the job?
I usually wear a dark shirt with a jacket and dark fitted jeans. It's work ready, yet presentable.

What is your go-to outfit for a Miami event?
Calvin Klein shirts, Levi's jeans, and Armani boots.

Best fashion advice you've ever gotten?
Keep it simple and at least semi comfortable. Make sure you feel sexy in it.

Yaniv Cohen, Vice President and Creative Director, is wearing a Scotch & Soda shirt, Hugo by Hugo Boss jeans, a YSL leather bracelet, a Rolex explorer watch and Emporio Armani boots.

Describe your style in three words or less.
Current, Comfortable, Chic

Your job requires you on your feet when you're putting together events. How do you manage to look put together while staying comfortable on the job?
I buy the most comfortable dress shoes I can find. Investing in quality shoes is well worth it. If I'm wearing a jacket, it will be the last thing I put on right before the event starts.

What is your go-to outfit for a Miami event?
Super dark blue denim, a dress shirt and a jacket.

Best fashion advice you've ever gotten?
Don't be afraid to be a little out of the box.

What's one thing everyone planning a party should consider?
Entertainment.

What's one thing you always pack in your bag (or pockets!) for a party?
Mints.

What is the best event you've ever gone to, and what did you wear?
Shiraz recently produced a beautiful gay wedding for a fantastic couple. It was gorgeous of course - from the food to the staff to the design of the venue space. It was very emotional for all of us, as the grooms are very dear friends of Shiraz. The theme was Vintage Chic, I wore vintage Ralph Lauren plaid pants, a white button down shirt, brown leather suspenders and wing tip shoes.

Thais Venturini, Production Manager, is wearing a Mustard Seed top from Nasty Gal, Top Shop Moto jeans, Schutz heels, a Kate Spade watch, and a ring from Sole Mate boutique.

Describe your style in three words or less.
Contemporary, flirty and edgy.

Your job requires you on your feet when you're putting together events. How do you manage to look put together while staying comfortable on the job?
The key is to wear pieces that are comfortable and allow you to move well in, but still look professional and feel confident in. Things that are too tight or short never work out. Since we always have such a short amount of time to get ready, simple hair styles and make-up are the ways to go. Also keeping nice flats around is a must, just in case the end of the night calls for them.

What is your go-to outfit for a Miami event?
A black jumper I recently purchased at a Brickell boutique. It has a harem pant style to it and almost looks like a dress. I like to cinch it with a bold black and gold belt and hot pumps.

Best fashion advice you've ever gotten?
"Life is short- heels shouldn't be." I am pretty tall for a girl (5'7) and used to always be extremely self-conscious about how tall I am when wearing heels higher than 3", although I had always loved them. Thankfully I got over that and realized it really doesn't matter what people think. Who cares if I tower over the entire party? Easier to spot me!

What's one thing everyone planning a party should consider?
Weather. Especially in Miami. A lot of times clients have an amazing outdoor venue and a not so great back up plan. It's important to consider every aspect and not compromise a great venue due to inclement weather – tents are great but can really kill a beautiful outdoor venue.

What's one thing you always pack in your bag (or pockets!) for a party?
Perfume. I cannot go anywhere (party, event, life in general) without my perfume in my bag.

What is the best event you've ever gone to, and what did you wear?
Designed For A Cure 2014, benefitting the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center of Miami. Coordinating that event for 9 months was beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Between raising money for an amazing cause and incorporating Oscar de la Renta's Fashion Show into it and actually having Mr. de la Renta there, was an honor and an experience I will never forget. I wore a Cobalt Blue knee-length dress from a Miami Boutique and a pair of go-to Steve Madden pumps.

Stephen Lalama, Events Manager, is wearing a Balenciaga shirt, Levi's 501 jeans, a Tom Ford belt, Top Shop shoes, a BLK DMN jacket, a vintage OMEGA watch and bracelets found while thrifting.

Describe your style in three words or less.
Free and elaborated and into classic looks.

Your job requires you on your feet when you're putting together events. How do you manage to look put together while staying comfortable on the job?
Light jeans, stylish tennis shoes and a T-shirt. You have to keep your hair styled in order to look polished, and the rest comes with it.

What is your go-to outfit for a Miami event?
Jeans, slippers and a polo (a dark color, preferably Psycho Bunny) photograph well.

Best fashion advice you've ever gotten?
Something I read from Diana Vreeland: "The only real elegance is in the mind; if you got that, the rest really comes from it!"

What's one thing everyone planning a party should consider?
Being organized and making a lasting impression on your guests.

What's one thing you always pack in your bag (or pockets!) for a party?
I have hair product and face wash in my bag, obviously. I never chew gum - my mom always said it was a nasty habit.

What is the best event you've ever gone to, and what did you wear?
AMFAR in NYC— fashion and philanthropy go hand in hand. I wore a vintage tuxedo jacket that was my grandfather's (which I tailored to my size because he was taller than me), a white shirt, black slacks and a bow tie.

Danielle Kehl, Catering Manager, is wearing a Gap T-shirt, Ohm Boutique skit, Louis et Cie shoes from Nordstrom, and jewelry found in flea markets and thrift stores.

Describe your style in three words or less.
Elegant, Fun, Timeless

Your job requires you on your feet when you're putting together events. How do you manage to look put together while staying comfortable on the job?
Always wear comfortable clothes and shoes for set up, freshen up and change right before the event, and be ready to do it anywhere!

What is your go-to outfit for a Miami event?
A dress or skirt and blouse with a statement necklace or bangles, always with heels.

Best fashion advice you've ever gotten?
"Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and remove one accessory"— Coco Chanel

What's one thing everyone planning a party should consider?
Rain Plan.

What's one thing you always pack in your bag (or pockets!) for a party?
Baby wipes; you use them for everything.

What is the best event you've ever gone to, and what did you wear?
Obama Victory Party in LA - I wore my favorite white dress and a beaded necklace.

Michelle Slavin, Catering Manager, is wearing a top and pants Anthropologie and French Connection shoes.

Describe your style in three words or less.
It feels right.

Your job requires you on your feet when you're putting together events. How do you manage to look put together while staying comfortable on the job?
For me, it's all about the right shoes when getting ready for an event. If I can move easily and be comfortable yet still look good, it shows.
