Bayside Marketplace's Food Court is the First to Go

It's old news that Bayside Marketplace will be getting a major facelift, but Miami Today has given us a little insight as to how extensive this facelift will be. They'll begin with the food court in early 2015 and add new wall finishes, lighting, and plush, cushiony benches and couches. They predict this phase will be done within eight months.

Currently Bayside has 189 businesses operating within the 27-year-old mall, however all that is set to change. They were recently approved by city commissioners and voters for a $27 to $35 million revamp, which includes an additional 17,000 square feet of retail space that faces Biscayne, extra garage space, and SkyRise Miami, a monstrous, rather phallic shaped observation tower so tall you can see out into the everglades on a clear day. So far, the only additional tenant we are aware of is Fit2Run.
