Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
As Miami New Times put it, "Halloween is just nine days away, which means Party City is sold out of everything good -- and there's only so much Goodwill hunting you can probably handle." Solution? DIY, baby. Share Squared, a shared workspace in Little Havana that hosts classes and workshops for design and fashion DIY projects, is hosting two workshops this week to help you put together your ultimate Halloween costume, for free! Just come with your idea and the materials to make it, and they'll provide the tools and assistance. Classes will be held this evening and on Friday from 7 to 10pm, so get the sketch pad out and start brainstorming.
