This Rose Gold (Plated) Ring Is a Showstopper

Racked Dallas editor Anna Caplan: I kind of have a thing for rose gold. Maybe it has to do with getting a beautiful thin-banded ring from my husband on the Ponte Vecchio in Florence years ago. With Europe in the very distant rearview (we're parents now, thank you very much) the good vibes about the hue have translated into a free-associative kind of thing. I see rose gold, I love it. 

So when I found this Giles & Brother Pave Railroad Spike ring in rose gold plated brass at the new store Planet Bardot on Dallas's Knox Street, I caved. The ring ($74 at the store; $80 elsewhere online) is at once delicate and chunky. And the bit of sparkle from the pave crystals doesn't hurt either. It's my kind of simple accessory, a perfect bridge (as it were) from back then to now.

Teen Vogue editor (and former Racked intern) Phillip Picardi Instagrammed them, Fashionista wrote a trend piece referencing his Instagram, and Refinery29 published a story called "Should You Add A Konjac Sponge To Your Skin-Care Arsenal?" kk

I'm incredibly cautious when it comes to changing my skincare routine, but I'm also a total sheep, so I figured I'd give the sponge a month and see what happened. Here's what happened: My skin looked amazing. Konjac sponges are soft enough that they won't irritate delicate complexions, but they're also great at unclogging pores, leaving your face perfectly clear and clean. No wonder they've developed such a bandwagon.

Racked Philly editor Julie Davis: I don't have to reach for my L.L.Bean winter boots too often, but when a snowstorm hits, they're the most invaluable member of my shoe line-up. They're a happy alternative to clunky pack boots, which, for me, would be overkill; I'm only trekking from my front door to the car, after all. For snow boots, they're pretty cute, too, and the relatively slim profile makes them wearable for driving and running errands.

Did I mention they're waterproof and lined with real shearling? You could complain that they almost keep your feet too warm, but hey, it's better than having icicles for toes.

Racked SF editor Kristen Philipkoski: These Alternative Apparel leggings are hands-down the comfiest I've ever worn. They're my go-to for lounging, although, depending on your geographic location and where you're headed, you could get away with wearing them out and about with a drapey top. They come in prints that are a nice change from the ubiquitous black in my closet, and I take comfort in knowing the L.A.-based company takes social responsibility seriously.
