You can finally put to rest your burning skepticism of whether or not IKEA really is coming to Miami; the blue paneling is finally in sight! We know, we know - you can't possibly feel the excitement until you see the store's many levels being filled with DIY nightstands and minimalistic textiles, but the addition of the Swedish retailer's iconic blue wall means that the store is on its way to a grand opening in the Summer of 2014 (hear that spring-cleaners and dorm-decorators)?
This IKEA, which neighbors Dolphin Mall, will feature 10,000 exclusively designed items throughout 50 room-settings, a children's play area, baby care rooms, a 600-seat restaurant and South Florida's largest rooftop solar array. But the one feature that's just as exciting as IKEA's classic Swedish meatballs (we know that's what you're most excited for) is the abundance of parking: 1,500 slots! Plus, in true Miami fashion, this IKEA will offer preferred parking, only for the most notable and worthy of its customers. We wonder how many BILLY bookshelves you'll have to buy to snag a spot.
