A curious little shop called Mr Somebody & Mr Nobody has popped up in the Design District for Art Basel, and apparently it's backed by the district. The afro-pop-up is set to open on December 1 and will remain open through December 15. What's more curious about this outpost is the story behind it. Apparently Mr Somebody & Mr Nobody is an important businessman from the Gold City in Southern Africa who makes unpredictable things that "express what it means to be African abroad," mostly because many of the colorful items inside are handmade throughout the continent, not to mention other countries. Life-size umbrellas, cardboard suitcases and doilies, khangas (which are large pieces of fabric, like sarongs), and seat cushions in the shape of a radio are just a few of the things you may find inside, however it's definitely worth a stop in your Basel travels, if only to satisfy your curiosity.
